How To Create Memorials As A Family Guide gives families a concrete way to study God’s word and create concrete symbols that remind them of what God has done and is doing for them. It includes:

  • Explanation of what a memorial is and why it’s important 
  • Biblical devotions that explain the significance of each memorial
  • Instructions on how families can create the memorials together

HOW TO USE IT

This resource is designed to help you guide the families you serve as they build spiritual memorials together. 

Event

Memorial Family Night – Invite families to an event to learn about Memorials and build them together. 

  • Provide copies of this resource for families to review.
  • Discuss ways to use the resource in their home.
  •  Preview content for each of the memorials.

Non-Event

  • Simply email the Memorial Guide s to families or share printed packets.
  • Provide the resource to your small group leaders for use in a small group Bible study.. Print and distribute the discussion questions and activity ideas to students for families to share.
  • Ask a few families to build the memorials and share pictures of them with you to help you inspire other families to use the guide themselves.

Amy Diller began her career as an elementary teacher before moving into her current role of Co-Director of Children’s Ministry at Colonial Woods Missionary Church in Port Huron, MI. She is a life-long Michigander, wife to Jason, and mom to two college-aged daughters.
